John Taylor Piano Julian Argüelles Saxophones Martin France Drums

“Taylor's music creates its own atmosphere, a kind of stillness that draws you in … His piano playing is full of subtleties – harmonic, rhythmic and dynamic – and the empathy with his long-standing partner, drummer Martin France, is little short of miraculous.

“This time they are joined by saxophonist Julian Argüelles who is very much on the same wavelength. The result is quiet but intense, and unmistakably European in spirit.”

~ Dave Gelly, The Observer

“Taylor's proximity to the status of the Jarretts and Mehldaus, not to mention his late hero Bill Evans, has been a long time coming. Though some predicted it decades ago, the broadening of the pianist's vision and the further blossoming of his awesome technique has been a genuine middle-years breakthrough rather than simply a late reminder of overlooked mastery.”

~ John Fordham, The Guardian
